Weird gift for boyfriend?
My boyfriend (who is 20 years old) received a chain bracelet for his birthday when he was 16 years old from his ex girlfriend. For valentines day, i got him a sterling silver chain necklace. Do you think that’s ok, or would that be weird since his ex girlfriend bought him something similar? (He bought me a sterling silver charm bracelet for xmas)
And his girlfriend bought him a chain bracelet that was REALLY expensive since her family was REALLY rich. I feel like im going to look bad or something since mines only sterling silver. :S
What do you guys think? Will it be fine, or weird?
And why is sterling silver so much more at Tiffanys?!?!?!
I think it’s fine as long as he likes that style and wears jewelry. And don’t worry that you can’t afford something as expensive. If he’s dating you for your family’s money, he doesn’t really like you, right? So, no worries about the price of the bracelet. Besides, sterling silver is quite nice, actually. It’s good quality and it’s pretty, in my personal opinion. How was the bracelet more expensive? Was it gold? Gold does cost more than silver, but some people prefer silver over gold, anyways. I like the look of yellow gold, but I usually prefer the look of silver, white gold, and platinum. Some people are caught up on the price tag of something, but some people just like what they like and they don’t let what society considers it to be worth (the price tag) to be relevant. Also, like I said, it shouldn’t be about the money in this case, especially. It should be about the thought. That you cared enough to get him something.
I don’t know why sterling silver is more at Tiffany’s, but my guess is it’s just the name. Sometimes, people charge more just for a name. Silly, huh? I swear I’ve seen some shirts that really weren’t very unique and looked quite simple and similar to other shirts I’ve seen for FAR less, but due to their brand, they were outrageously priced. That’s just my guess.
